Fall Update

What a year, what a year.
After 6+ months of our new world, I hope you’re finding ways to stay healthy, positive, creative and sane. I’m doing my best to find the balance. There have been many challenges. On top of the pandemic and all it brings, we have been dealing with many issues close to home. Northern California was (once again) ravaged by wildfires. One got pretty close, and we had the worst air quality in the world for about a month. It had many impacts on our day to day lives. Really feels like the new norm here, like everyone else’s extreme weather conditions. Humans need to get their shit together and take this climate change seriously. There will be no coins to collect if there’s no world.

My family also suffered a deep personal loss with the tragic death of a dear friend. Amelie was 18 and one of our daughters’ closest friends. We’ve known the family since they were in kindergarten. The community has been rocked, but is extremely resilient and supportive. She was (and is) a beautiful soul. I have attached a recording I made for (and possibly with) her. It’s a simple offering called ‘Prayer’.

I do continue to stay plugged in to my music in any way I can. Had some fun streaming shows with great musicians such as Erik Jekobsen, Paula West and Paul Hanson. More to come! Keeping out there doing driveway/street concerts in SF, Oakland, and Sonoma. A few outdoor venues are opening up, but the weather is changing, so we’ll see. Busy with various recording projects, including my own! So close to sharing some of these new songs with you. Worth the wait.

Next post will be post election. So much feels on the line, more than usual. We need to move on from this freak show or we’re in trouble. I hope my next post will have a renewed tone of optimism. Lot of work to do, but TOGETHER, we can do it. C’mon 2021….

Cheers.
