Spring Update

Hey Folks,
After my post honoring my mom, I figured I should let you know what’s going on with me musically. While it’s still a challenging time with limited opportunities for performance, I’ve been doing my best to stay musically fit and creative. The last few months were a bit of a hiatus for me while I dealt with a series of family crisis, but I’m feeling the Spring thaw! I’ve enjoyed playing with keyboardist Simon Rowe, playing organ at some gigs in the Glen Park neighborhood in SF. These have included streaming gigs at Bird and Beckett as well as outdoor patio concerts next door. Particularly fun gig with the wonderful drummer Sylvia Cuenca - so glad to finally connect. Duo gigs with Chuck Sher coming up, and a handful of front yard shows including my own trio at my house. Keep ‘ya posted.

Had a great recording session for a piece written by the wonderful Bay Area pianist/composer Jack Perla.
The piece was based on Andy Warhol, part of a potential series based on important artistic figures. It was as much a video project as a recording, done in the cavernous Port of Richmond warehouse The Crane Pavillion.
This is where the whole Rosie the Riveter era happened during WW2 - basically a tank factory converted into a a event/performance space. Talk about social distancing! The score was incredible and the band was unbelievable. The core group was Jack on piano, me on guitars, Kai Eckhardt on bass, Deszon Claiborne on drums, the Kronos Quartet and singers from the SF Opera. Wow! Can’t wait to hear the final result.

Thanks for all the positive feedback on my recent release ‘Gonna Be Found’. If you haven’t checked it out, it’s on all the streaming platforms as well as this website. My next single is almost done, can’t wait to share it with you.

Hope as we all help bring this pandemic to an end, I’ll get to see more of you in person and share music the way it was meant to be shared. Let’s all do our part and get back to all the things we love. Talk to you soon!
